How is CantoBase different from My Music Staff? +
My Music Staff handles scheduling and invoicing. CantoBase goes further with autopay billing (parents don't have to manually pay each month), a parent-facing practice portal, and self-service make-up scheduling — all things MMS doesn't offer.
Do parents need to create an account? +
No. Parents access their portal through a shareable link — no login, no app download, no friction. They can see assignments, log practice time, and view their billing status instantly.
What does autopay billing mean for my students' families? +
You set each student's monthly rate. When you enable billing for a family, Stripe charges their card automatically on the 1st. You get paid on time, every time — and parents never have to remember to send a check.

What happens to my data if I cancel? +
Your data stays available until the end of your billing period. After that, you can export everything. We never delete your student records without your explicit request.

Yes. CantoBase runs on Convex (SOC 2 compliant infrastructure) with encrypted data in transit and at rest. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.
